When should you switch to toddler and preschooler hair clips?

There's no fixed age at which you should switch from baby hair clips to a larger size. It mainly depends on how much hair your child has and how full or long it has become.

For many children, toddler and preschooler hair clips become ideal when smaller baby clips can no longer hold enough hair. For a child with a lot of hair early on, this might be sooner, while fine or shorter hair might still do well with a smaller clip for a bit longer.

Such an alligator clip is also nice to put next to or above a ponytail.
