Shipping costs in 2026 at Staartjes en Strikjes
The shipping costs are currently:
Netherlands €3.49 (free from €34.99) for letterbox parcels with track & trace.
Belgium €5.99 for a package with track & trace (free from €49.99).
Germany €5.99 for parcel with track & trace (free from €49.99).
We no longer send letterbox parcels to Belgium and Germany. Experience shows that these are often delivered too late and are also lost more quickly.
Our shipping rate is an all-in rate (e.g. envelopes, labels, postage and VAT).
From January 1, 2020, goods may no longer be sent abroad in an envelope due to an amendment to the Postal Act. This is only allowed as a package and we must also digitally report the contents of all foreign shipments in advance. The costs charged by postal companies for shipments abroad have therefore increased. As a service to our foreign customers, we cover part of these costs.
Why not free shipping?
We are often asked if we can ship the order for free. I would like to explain why we cannot do this. The costs incurred for this must be covered in some other way. Many online stores include these costs in the sales price of the products. This would mean that we would have to increase the prices of our products to make shipping costs free. Instead, we have opted for attractive prices for our products, which are unique and affordable.
We don't want to act unfairly, that's why we offer free shipping above a certain amount. In this way we strive for a good price-quality ratio.
Delivery time
Staartjes en Strikjes is not a large mega online store. We are happy to pack your order with attention, care and love and our goal is to ship your order as quickly as possible. Orders placed on working days are usually shipped within 1 to 2 working days. However, during busier periods, such as during promotions, school holidays and the months of November and December, it may take a little longer, up to 2 to 3 working days. We ship from Monday to Friday.

It is important to take into account exceptions to delivery times during public holidays and holiday periods. Any deviating delivery times will be stated in your shopping cart, so that you are always informed about the shipment of your order. In addition, we will also share additional information via our social media channels during busy periods. Shipping via PostNL and DHL
We ship all orders using PostNL or DHL. Please note that delivery depends on these carriers and is beyond our control. While next-day delivery used to be common, this can no longer be guaranteed. In practice, we see that delivery can regularly take several days.
If you're placing an order, please take into account the possibility of a longer delivery time – especially if you need your package on short notice.
During busy periods, such as holidays or promotional events, we also prepare orders over the weekend. However, postal services do not process shipments during the weekend. Your order will then be picked up on Monday and processed from that moment onward.
During peak times, it’s important to place your order in time – both for domestic and international deliveries. For international shipping, delivery times range from 3 to 10 working days. Please note that Staartjes en Strikjes is not responsible for any delays caused by PostNL, Bpost or DHL.
I haven’t received my order
Have you received a shipping confirmation from us, but your order hasn’t arrived after 7 days? Please contact us immediately – no later than 10 days after shipment – so we can initiate an investigation.
